Jordan imported 10,000 b/d of Iraqi crude oil in September, said an official of the consortium Dhiabat and Zoubi, which transports the Iraqi crude overland by tanker truck from Baiji in Iraq to Jordan’s refinery at Zarqa. The consortium is ready to increase the volume of imported Iraqi crude to 15,000 b/d, as per the agreement signed between the two countries, the official added.
Jordan imports the Iraqi crude at a preferential price which works out to a discount of $5-6/B, net of the cost of transportation from Iraq to the refinery, according to Jordanian officials.
