Following a near fortnight of discussions in the French and Yemeni capital cities earlier this month, French companies Total and GDF Suez have agreed to raise the price they pay for Yemeni liquefied natural gas (LNG) under a new long-term contract starting next year.
MEES understands the companies have agreed to more than double what they were paying Yemen LNG, from around $3.20/mn BTU to $7.20/mn BTU, providing a much-needed boost to government coffers. (CONTINUED - 533 WORDS)
