Lisbon-based Partex, a legacy partner in historic concessions in Oman and the UAE, is working hard to ensure that it remains part of the future of the region’s oil industry, while at the same time diversifying from its traditional Middle East heartlands.
Established by Middle East oil pioneer Calouste Gulbenkian in 1938, it occupies a special place in the history of the region’s oil sector. The only non-major present in Abu Dhabi’s key onshore Adco and Gasco concessions, where it holds 2%, Partex also has 2% in Oman’s dominant producer, state-majority owned (but Shell-led) Petroleum Development Oman (PDO).
