• Swedish independent Tethys Oil is planning to ramp up exploration activities at its Block 3 and Block 4 licenses, after posting record oil production figures for the first three quarters of the year. For the nine months ending 30 September 2012, Tethys produced 358,968 barrels, corresponding to around 3,902 b/d. Tethys’ share of the blocks’ production, before government take, amounts to 30% of the total.
“During the remainder of 2012, Tethys Oil expects an increased focus on exploration on Blocks 3 and 4, as production facilities and infrastructure are being completed,” the company said last week. A total of eight wells were completed on the blocks during 3Q12, six of which were on the Farha South oilfield on Block 3, and two on Block 4. (CONTINUED - 287 WORDS)
