On 5 January Sudan’s president ‘Umar al-Bashir met with his Southern Sudanese counterpart Salva Kiir in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa with the hopes of both nations resting on their shoulders.
The meeting was called by the African Union (AU) in order to ease the ongoing tensions between the two sides following several rounds of what can only be described as failed talks. (CONTINUED - 644 WORDS)
