Speaking ahead of this week’s Oman Energy Forum, Oman’s Minister of Oil and Gas Muhammad al-Rumhy revealed that while the country’s oil and gas sector remains on a continuous growth trajectory, as things stand, its reserves may not last much beyond 2020.
“We are happy with the upstream operations of the ministry as we have more companies coming to the country,” he told the Oman Observer on 20 October. “Our exploration initiatives are bearing fruit, and the signs are quite visible,” he said, noting that the ministry was close to awarding production sharing contracts for a number of blocks.
