As Iraq gradually ramps up its crude exports, and with the prospect of détente between the United States and Iran growing stronger – which could potentially lead to a relaxing of sanctions and a consequent ramp-up of Iranian crude exports – Kuwait has made clear it has no intention of surrendering its foothold in Asia anytime soon.
