State-owned Qatar Petroleum International (QPI) has pulled out of a $3bn dollar refinery project in Tunisia. The mooted project was to have had a capacity of 250,000-350,000 b/d, and would have eliminated the need for imports of refined products into the country.
Instead, Tunis will proceed with plans for a refinery able to process at least 100,000 b/d, Tawfiq Bendali, executive director of strategy at the Societe Tunisienne de Raffinage said at the North Africa Downstream Summit this week. (CONTINUED - 279 WORDS)
