The Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (JAEC) announced on 28 October that it has selected Russian state nuclear power company Rosatom as the preferred bidder to build a 1GW nuclear power plant in the Amra region, 60km east of Zarqa.
Official news agency Petra said the plant is expected to deliver 12% of the kingdom’s electricity needs when it starts up in 2020. (CONTINUED - 539 WORDS)
