Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries Company (Orpic) has awarded a $2.1bn engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract to the UK’s Petrofac and Korea’s Daelim for an expansion project at Sohar refinery. The contractors will operate under a 50:50 joint venture.
Petrofac said on 25 November that the work encompasses EPC, start-up and commissioning. It includes both the revamp of existing units and the addition of new ones. The revamped facility will increase output by more than 70% to 197,000b/d. (CONTINUED - 448 WORDS)
