Iran has inaugurated an NGL plant on Sirri Island as part of a major program to recover natural gas liquids (NGLs) from associated gas produced in oil fields. The plant was built by the Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) subsidiary of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
The Ministry of Petroleum’s Shana website said the plant has the capacity to process 125mn cfd of associated gas for the recovery of NGLs for use as feedstock in petrochemical plants, with dry gas to be delivered into the national grid. State-run Press TV said plant output capacity was 1,400 b/d of condensate, 8,000 b/d of propane, 4,000 b/d of butane and 1,500 b/d of pentane, along with 100mn cfd of dry gas. (CONTINUED - 274 WORDS)
