Suhail Muhammad al-Mazru’i has become the UAE’s new Oil Minister, replacing Muhammad al-Hamili who had held the post for eight years, and has now retired. International Oil Companies (IOCs) trying to gain or keep concessions in the emirate have been trying to network Shaikh Muhammad, mostly without success.
Mr Mazru’i was one of two officials from Abu Dhabi state-owned conglomerate Mubadala appointed to the cabinet. Sultan Ahmad al-Jabir, CEO of Mubadala’s clean energy initiative Masdar became State Minister without portfolio. (CONTINUED - 849 WORDS)
