Oman has revealed it has received expressions of interest from neighboring countries in securing storage capacity at its planned 200mn barrel crude oil storage terminal in Ras Markaz, near the port-town of Duqm on the country’s east coast.
Once built, the terminal would potentially be one of the world’s biggest, and would serve as a second delivery/export point. This could in turn help provide an alternative outlet for Omani crude in the event of a disruption at the sultanate’s only other export terminal at the port of Mina al-Fahal near Muscat.
