Kuwait and Saudi Arabia push on with developing their shared Neutral Zone, recently awarding Mott MacDonald a five-year engineering services consultancy contract for Al Khafji field. The field produces all of the Neutral Zone’s offshore output of 300,000 b/d, Khafji is an extension of Saudi Arabia’s 1.5mn b/d Safaniyah field – the world’s largest offshore field.
Khafji Joint Operations, which oversees oil operations in the Neutral Zone, awarded the contract that covers the maintenance and development of the 40-year-old field. Mott MacDonald will provide feasibility studies, preliminary engineering, detailed design and technical support during tenders. (CONTINUED - 311 WORDS)
