Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) officials are holding talks with ACWA Power over revisions to the Rabigh-2 power plant deal, after Saudi Aramco reportedly switched the allocated fuel for the project from fuel oil to gas.
Although neither SEC nor Saudi Aramco has confirmed the switch, such a change would reflect Riyadh’s aim to balance the Saudi fuel supply mix and reduce the burning of oil in power plants (MEES, 14 December 2012). (CONTINUED - 284 WORDS)
