UK independent Gulf Keystone on 26 June announced that the development plan for its giant Shaikan discovery in Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has been approved.
The project, which envisages production of 250,000 b/d by 2018, will, if realized, be the first of the major new discoveries in the KRG to be developed. Current KRG producing fields – namely the Khurmala Dome, Tawke and Taq Taq, are built on existing discoveries. (CONTINUED - 387 WORDS)
