Tunis remains committed to going ahead with its planned south Tunisia gas development, despite rumors circulating last week suggesting the venture had been shelved, Yassine Mestiri, project manager at Tunisia’s state-controlled ETAP told the North Africa Gas conference in Rome this week.
“This project is the umbilical cord of Tunisia,” he told the conference delegates on 25 June. “We must do it. This is the project we hope will feed our country in the near future with the large volumes of gas that have been found in the south,” he added. (CONTINUED - 1525 WORDS)
