The trio of Iran, Russia and China are financially backing the regime of Bashar al-Asad, the Syrian Deputy Prime Minister for the Economy Qadri Jamil said late last month.
In a bid to show that the situation in Syria was somehow under control, Mr Jamil told the Financial Times that the three countries are supporting his country’s international financial transactions by “delivering $500mn a month in oil and extending credit lines.” (CONTINUED - 363 WORDS)
