Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has invited bids for advisory services for construction of the delayed Hassyan power plant, which is the emirate’s first independent power producer (IPP) project.
DEWA Managing Director and CEO Sa’id Muhammad al-Tayir announced on 20 August that Hassyan will be a coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1.2GW. It will comprise two 600MW units, with the first to be completed by 2020 and the second by 2021. (CONTINUED - 247 WORDS)
