National Oil Corporation (NOC) Chairman Nuri Berruien tells MEES that oil output for the first four weeks of August averaged just 630,000 b/d, the lowest since November 2011 – the immediate aftermath of the capture of Sirte and the death of Col Gaddafi.
The August figure compares with the 1.242mn b/d that Libya reported to OPEC in July. MEES, however, estimates Libyan July output at just 750,000 b/d, given that all but two of its oil terminals were closed by worker unrest and port protests. (CONTINUED - 1031 WORDS)
