January’s terrorist attack on the In Amenas gas facilities continues to cast its shadow over the Algerian energy sector, pushing back a bellwether bid round and undermining the appeal of the country to international oil companies.
A report commissioned by Statoil in the wake of the In Amenas hostage crisis found the security arrangements provided by the Algerian army inadequate.
