The state-owned National Oil Corporation (NOC) has responded by lifting force majeure for one eastern terminal, while production at an oil field operated by a subsidiary in the troublesome region is ramping up.
On 27 December the foundation stone for the new NOC headquarters was laid in Benghazi, Libya’s second largest city that has long been starved of investment under former dictator Qadhafi. The relocation of NOC has been a key demand by secessionists, as well as more moderate voices calling for a greater distribution of wealth. State-owned Libyan Airlines, Libyan Insurance Company and National Investment Company will also relocate from Tripoli to Benghazi. (CONTINUED - 797 WORDS)
