Oman Oil Refineries and Petroleum Industries (Orpic) and Spain’s Compania Logistica de Hidrocarburos (CLH) have formed a 60:40 joint venture, Orpic Logistics Company (OLC), to build a $200mn oil products pipeline network and storage terminal. CLH says the pipelines will total 290km, with capacity to carry 5.4mn cu ms/year (93,000 b/d) of products.
Orpic says the Muscat-Sohar Product Pipeline (MSPP) project will comprise three elements: a 280km multi-product pipeline between Orpic’s Mina al-Fahal refinery and its Sohar complex; a terminal at Jifnain in Muscat governorate; and a pipeline from Jifnain to Muscat International Airport. MSPP will carry premium and regular gasoline, diesel and A-1 jet fuel. It is expected to be operational in 2016. (CONTINUED - 281 WORDS)
