The Middle East continues to play a key role for international oil services firms, their first quarter results indicate. First quarter numbers were boosted by the resumption of activity in Iraq.
Baker Hughes, Schlumberger and Halliburton, the three largest firms to have reported Q1 results all posted double-digit revenue growth for their Middle East & Asia regions when compared to a year earlier. In addition for all three the region provides a larger share of overall company revenue than it did a year earlier (see table). (CONTINUED - 750 WORDS)
