Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has awarded a Dh1.47bn ($400mn) contract to Germany’s Siemens to add 700MW of electricity generating capacity at its M-Station power and desalination plant in Jebel Ali. The expansion will take M-Station capacity to 2.7GW of electricity and 630,000 cmd of water.
DEWA says UK-based Mott MacDonald is consultant for the project, which is scheduled for completion at the end of April 2018. M-Station is the UAE’s largest power and desalination plant and was inaugurated in early 2013 (MEES, 12 April 2013). (CONTINUED - 343 WORDS)
