Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum Sharif Isma’il announced a reshuffle of a number of high-ranking officials within the country’s oil and gas sector on 17 February.
Usama al-Bakly has been promoted to the position of Chairman of Agiba, a joint venture between Italian-firm Eni and Egypt’s state oil firm EGPC, from vice chairman for production and field development at the EGPC’s gas affiliate EGAS. Muhammad ‘Abd al-Fattah, who was formerly the chairman of the EGPC has been moved to vice chairman of EGAS, with Tahir al- Zafzaf, the former assistant chairman at the Shell JV Bapetco, taking his place (see table).
