Long-time MEES Editor-In Chief Dr Walid Khadduri on 6 June was honored for his excellence in journalism and “extensive contributions during half a century of reporting on the Arab oil and gas scene” by the Arab Energy Club in Beirut.
Born in Baghdad, Dr Khadduri was in the 1970s Director of Information at OAPEC in Kuwait, where he helped set up its scientific journal. He joined MEES in 1981, rapidly rising to the position of Executive Editor and then Editor-In-Chief until 2004. He is “highly respected and well known internationally for his extensive knowledge of the Arab world’s oil and gas industry,” the Arab Energy Club notes. (CONTINUED - 203 WORDS)
