Italian firm Eni has made an ‘important’ gas discovery in the Abu Madi licence in the onshore Nile Delta, some 120km north-east of Alexandria, the company announced on 20 July. Eni hopes the new discovery, estimated to hold 0.53 tcf of “will be put into production in two months’ time through a tie-in to the existing Abu Madi gas treatment plant, located 25km south-east.”
Reaching a total depth of 3,600ms, the Nidoco NW2 Dir NFW well struck 60ms of gas the firm says. (CONTINUED - 223 WORDS)
