Norwegian independent DNO is looking to diversify away from its focus on Iraqi Kurdistan (see p19). And given that its Iranian-born Executive Chairman Bijan Mossavar-Rahmani literally wrote the book on ‘Energy Policy In Iran,’ it would be strange if the current openings in the Islamic republic had not caught his eye.
“Among new countries under consideration by DNO, needless to say that Iran offers interesting opportunities but at such time as international sanctions are removed and we are able to consider and pursue such opportunities,” Mr Mossavar-Rahmani told analysts after presenting the company’s second quarter results on 20 August.
