Iraqi Minister of Oil Jabbar al-Luaibi has held talks with France’s Total and Chinese state firm PetroChina (the listed arm of Chinese state CNPC) over potential investment in a project to build a refinery at Nasiriya, 370km southeast of Baghdad.
The Nasiriya refinery project is bundled with the further development of an oilfield of the same name, where state firm South Oil Company has recently raised production capacity to 80,000 b/d (MEES, 30 September 2016). (CONTINUED - 636 WORDS)
