Oman’s state refiner Orpic has begun commercial operation of the Muscat Sohar Product Pipeline (MSPP) system, which links refineries at Sohar and Mina al-Fahal with the Al Jifnain storage terminal and nearby Muscat airport.
Orpic says that the $320mn 93,000 b/d capacity MSPP will handle more than 50% of Oman’s products demand. MSPP comprises 290km of reversible multi-product pipelines: a 280km link between the refineries and the terminal and short links between the terminal and the airport. The terminal has 18 road tanker loading bays and capacity to store 170,000m3 of refined products. (CONTINUED - 198 WORDS)
