Newly re-elected Iranian President Hassan Rohani vowed to bring about an “economic revolution” in Iran at his inauguration speech in parliament on 5 August marking the start of his second four-year term of office.

He reaffirmed his intent to improve Iran’s external relations and tap more foreign investment. “Eliminating poverty lies in creating jobs and this needs massive investment and access to markets and high technology,” he said.
