The smaller of Israel’s two refineries, the 100,000 b/d-capacity Paz plant in Ashdod, saw output fall to just 19,600 b/d in Q2 as industrial action in June compounded the effect of a lengthy maintenance outage (see table).
Paz says the 75-day shutdown was for routine five-yearly maintenance and renovation. Though this was the key reason that the plant’s first half output was down 45% year-on-year, output was further hit by a strike in June which delayed the plant’s restart. (CONTINUED - 574 WORDS)
