Jordan’s fiscal position has improved with the finalization of a promised $812mn aid package from the US to the cash-strapped kingdom.
Planning Minister Imad Fakhury and Jim Barnhart, Jordan mission chief at USAID, on 3 December signed a cash support grant for $475mn under the Economic Support Fund for Jordan for 2017. The minister says this will be used to fund priority projects in the 2017 budget and thus help cut the fiscal deficit. (CONTINUED - 336 WORDS)
