DNO’s decision to step up drilling activity in Iraqi Kurdistan over 2018 is bearing fruit as its fast-track development of the Peshkabir field exceeds expectations. The field has now hit its end-2018 50,000 b/d production target “ahead of schedule and below budget” according to a 9 October update.
Peshkabir lies within the Tawke block (DNO 75% op, Genel 25%) close to the eponymous Tawke field where “production currently stands at just over 80,000 b/d.” This brings the block’s total output to 130,000 b/d up from around 120,000 b/d in August and the highest since 4Q 2015, prior to Peshkabir’s June 2017 start up.
