Oman Power and Water Procurement Co (OPWP) has begun the tendering process for its second utility-scale solar power plant with a call for bidders to provide technical services for building a solar plant with capacity to generate between 500MW and 1GW.
The plant will be known as the Solar 2022 independent power producer (IPP) project and is intended to be built 300km west of Muscat at Ibri in Dhahirah governorate, alongside the Ibri 2 solar IPP, for which bids were submitted in March (MEES, 9 March). (CONTINUED - 880 WORDS)
