Oman state utility OPWP has listed the bidders for a project to build, own and operate Oman’s first utility-scale solar photovoltaic plant, Ibri 2, which will have 500MW generating capacity and will be located 300km west of Muscat in Dharirah governorate.
OPWP says three consortia submitted bids: Abu Dhabi’s Masdar with France’s Total Solar and China’s Jink Power; Saudi Arabia’s Acwa Power with Kuwait’s Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) and Alternative Energy Projects Company (AEPC); and Japan’s Marubeni, Oman Gas Company, Qatar’s Nebras and Oman’s Bahwan.
