First gas from Libya’s Wafa gas compression project “is expected to come onstream in the next few days,” Eni and Libya’s NOC said in a 3 November statement.
Eni-led Mellitah Oil & Gas produces the bulk of Libya’s gas production with output split between the Wafa field on the Algerian border (see map, MEES, 9 November) and the offshore Bahr Essalam field. Phase-2 expansion of Bahr Essalam field, with an additional ten wells in total, is “expected to complete by the end of 2018,” Eni and NOC say.
