In the wake of longstanding threats by Tripoli-based NOC that it will seek legal action against fuel smugglers, the country’s Attorney General has issued warrants for 144 arrests.
Praising the move in a February statement, NOC said “smuggling costs the Libyan economy and citizens hundreds of millions.” NOC plans to “submit periodic reports and information on smuggling operations” to the Attorney General. (CONTINUED - 289 WORDS)
