• February saw the highest ever daily collective LNG imports by top three global buyers Japan, China and South Korea. The three imported 16.9mn tons, some 603,000 tons/day, the first time ever that an average daily mark of 600,000 tons, equating to around 10 cargoes, has been breached.
• Chinese imports eased to 3.99mn tons in February from January’s record 5.18mn tons. But bitterly cold weather in Korea saw the country import an all-time record of 4.59mn tons. February also saw Korean imports top those of China for the first time in eight months. Japan remains the clear number one though, with imports of 8.29mn tons for February. (CONTINUED - 379 WORDS)
