• February saw the highest ever daily collective LNG imports by top three global buyers Japan, China and South Korea. The three imported 16.9mn tons, some 603,000 tons/day, the first time ever that an average daily mark of 600,000 tons, equating to around 10 cargoes, has been breached.
• Chinese imports eased to 3.99mn tons in February from January’s record 5.18mn tons. But bitterly cold weather in Korea saw the country import an all-time record of 4.59mn tons.
