Saudi Basic Industries (Sabic), one of the world’s largest petrochemicals producers, says total production fell by 1.8% to 71.2mn tons in 2017 from its 2016 output record of 72.5mn tons.
While 2017 was its second best year in output terms, a recovery in net income to $4.9bn – aided by the linking of petchems prices to crude oil – was still less than two-thirds of its record $7.8bn in 2011 (see charts). (CONTINUED - 764 WORDS)
