Israel-focused Zion Oil’s dry spell continues as it announced this week that testing on its Megiddo-Jezreel #1 well will not be completed until “on or about the week of August 13th.” The firm’s unique prioritization of atypical Biblical interpretation over geology has seen it become a specialist in drilling dry wells since it began its mission to discover oil in Israel in 2000.
With that in mind, announcing the discovery of a commercial find at Megiddo-Jezreel #1 would have delivered rare positivity for the firm. But the wait goes on. When Zion resumed work at the well in April it said “testing will likely take several weeks to complete.” Several months later, it seems apposite to note that when Zion says testing will be completed “about the week of August 13th,” it didn’t say in which year.
