Austria’s OMV announced on 27 September that output from Abu Dhabi’s Sarb & Umm Lulu concession has now started at 50,000 b/d. Production is slated to reach 129,000 b/d by year-end and 215,000 b/d by 2023. The concession was one of three created this year as part of the restructuring of the expired Adma concession (MEES, 4 May).
Sarb & Umm Lulu (Adnoc 60%, OMV 20%, Cepsa 20%) is the smallest of the three post-Adma concessions (see charts). Early production of 20,000 b/d started at Umm Lulu in 4Q 2016 and Sarb (Satah al-Razboot) was slated to begin this year - OMV confirmed to MEES that production has now “started in the Umm Lulu and Sarb (Satah Al Razboot) fields.” (CONTINUED - 493 WORDS)
