BP is moving forward with development of the 15tcf Tortue field on the Mauritania-Senegal maritime border on the back of an intergovernmental agreement between the two countries. FID for the innovative, multi-phase project, one of the world’s first FLNG developments was announced on 21 December.
With BP also eying a second hub based on reserves of up to 60tcf at ‘Greater BirAllah’, 60km to the north in wholly Mauritanian waters, the developments will be transformational for the Mauritanian economy (MEES, 14 December 2018). (CONTINUED - 530 WORDS)
