Abu Dhabi’s state petroleum firm Adnoc plans to mothball its 85,000 b/d Abu Dhabi refinery “because of its proximity to urban areas,” the firm’s downstream strategy chief Rizwan al-Sheikh told Reuters on 15 October.
This will leave Adnoc with two operating refineries at Ruwais, which lies 240km west of Abu Dhabi city on the Gulf coast. A third refinery is planned for the Ruwais hub by 2025. (CONTINUED - 315 WORDS)
