Whilst BP recently quit its aging acreage in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez (see above), the region’s other key player Eni is not only staying put but has been “us[ing] new play concepts and technology to re-evaluate [the area] where exploration was considered having reached a high level of maturity.”
A 25 October Eni announcement touts the success of recently-completed appraisal drilling at its Sidri South field, discovered last July. As a result Eni says it will add 5,000 b/d output “in the next few days.” (CONTINUED - 214 WORDS)
