Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Water & Electricity Company (Ewec) announced on 23 November that it has received bids for a planned 2GW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant, to be developed as an independent power producer (IPP) project in the western Al Dhafra region.
Ewec says the plant will cover 20km² and will be almost double the size of its 1.18GW Noor Abu Dhabi plant, currently the world’s largest operational single-project PV plant. Noor reached full commercial operation in June. (CONTINUED - 693 WORDS)
