Oman’s remarkable gas revolution has rejuvenated the sultanate’s LNG industry, with debottlenecking work underway at the 10.4mn t/y Oman LNG complex at Qalhat. But Oman LNG wants a more ambitious expansion, with CEO Harib al-Kitani floating the possibility of a fourth liquefaction train.
“Let’s say the government is successful in finding a lot of gas,” Mr Kitani told the Oman Observer this week, “beyond the needs of our present three trains, as well as our new debottlenecked capacity. If the volumes also exceeded other planned use then I don’t see why we shouldn’t have a fourth train. After all, Oman LNG is a good revenue-generating business, and we continue to do very well.” (CONTINUED - 401 WORDS)
