Libya’s 75,000 b/d Eni-led El Feel oil field was forced to shut down on 5 December, only seven days after it started up again, following a failed attempt by Tripoli-aligned forces late last month to wrestle the field from eastern-based General Khalifa Haftar (MEES, 29 November).
The latest closure came “as a result of an unlawful valve closure on the export pipeline from El Feel field to Mellitah,” Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) said in a 5 December statement.
