Dubai state utility Dewa is on track to meet its target of having 1GW of solar power generating capacity operating by the end of 2020 and is looking to develop its fifth and largest phase of solar capacity to date with start-up expected in stages beginning in the second quarter of 2020.
Dewa this week issued a request for qualification (RFQ) for developers to build and operate under independent power producer (IPP) terms the 900MW fifth phase of the MBR Solar Park. When complete this will take the park’s operational capacity to 2.86GW or 57% of the targeted total capacity of 5GW by 2030 (see table). (CONTINUED - 629 WORDS)
